Inverter Cooling
Inverter cooling simply means a cooling system that converts AC power to DC power for the majority of the components. This makes it much more efficient, quieter, less breakdowns, and is generally seen in heat pump systems (which also cool). We emphasize training on refrigerant based systems, as this is where the industry is shifting as a whole. Designing, maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, and installing these systems is a welcome step forward for us, and our clients. When done right they generally have a much lower lifetime maintenance cost, higher satisfaction rate, better overall comfort, tax credits, and good rebate incentives. Conventional Cooling
Conventional cooling is the age old unitary system with a big square condenser outside connected to a furnace or air handler inside. A more budget friendly option upfront usually if not getting into high SEER communicating equipment. Whatever the brand, type, refrigerant, or application is, we are fully ready and capable to provide the services needed. When doing maintenance or even a service call (time allowing), we go the extra mile to make sure the system is right. Traps get cleaned out, drain pan inspected, secondary heat exchanger/underside of evap coil checked with a camera, pressures checked with a probe to avoid risk of moisture/non-condensables entering the system, indoor delta-t checked, etc. We are also always getting a trained eye on best practices like correct return duct sizing (many get undersized), proper zoning (does it have a bypass damper or fully variable speed blower), static pressures, blower speed settings, supply register airflow (500-700 fps is ideal, and silent), and much more. Home Cooling Maintenance
Home cooling maintenance is best done yearly on conventional systems. This is to ensure there are no drain obstructions, weak capacitors, refrigerant leaks, or any other issues with the system.
Maintenance agreement plans include:
- 10% off any service work on the system under plan.
- 24/7 emergency service.
- Priority service during extreme weather events.
- Full 12-month parts/labor warranty on service work.
That being said, everyone's economic and system situation isn't the same. If you love your AC, we can service it yearly and keep it running like new with proactive maintenance. If you are a satisfied Futures client getting services needed for heating, hot water, and cooling we are also happy to offer 18- or 24-month maintenance contract with the same great perks. We will even show you simple things to check for potential issues and send a reminder in the spring. Our goal is to have clients who we enjoy serving and who appreciate the services we provide, not to squeeze maximum monetary value from every interaction. The rates we charge are what's required to stay in business and make 10-15% profit at the end of the day. Otherwise, we will always be straightforward about what's great to do, what can wait, what can't wait, and pros/cons of any available options for maintenance or service work.
